And the beat goes on...

Inform training continues. In case I didn't mention it my actual race training doesn't commence until the 17th of this month, but I'm still plugging away.

Today was a quick afternoon skate session followed almost immediately by a 3mile recovery run at a moderate pace. Let me just say, it FELT like a recovery run. My legs were sore but it felt good to stretch them out on the road. It was a good kind of ouch.

My pace was decent for a recovery run; 10:22/mile. It was hot, around 85 and very muggy. To be honest, my ears are insanely sensitive so I prefer to run in some mug rather than cold weather, so I'm not complaining a lot about the heat. It just makes breathing a bit more difficult sometimes.

It's 11pm (Goose is out of town) and I'm setting up my yoga mat, so that will conclude my day. I enjoy starting/finishing my day in that manner. It's refreshing and it makes me feel strong.

Tomorrow is:Afternoon Yoga
Bike Ride
Legs @ the Gym
Possibly the Arc Trainer if the joint is slow

For being the week before my period, my spirits are high, my energy is high enough, and my eating isn't super out of control, just a little bit.

How about some pictures for a change?!
...This past weekend my brother came to town from California with his new girlfriend. It was a fun couple of days and I really really enjoyed seeing him. It's been a while since the three of us have been together (my two brother and I) so here is a picture to commemorate it.

I hope the day finds you well.

  1. Great picture! You look so pretty!

Staying active, I see! :-) awesome. I don't know how it would work to get off the ski and then run...even if it is a recovery run-because I'm sure that doesn't equal easy. Yowza! Legs feel like spaghetti? :-) great job on that!!
